The ocean has taught me excitement,

fear, happiness, pain, passion, dedication, joy, serenity, travel, patience along with many other things that has shaped me into a better person.”
“I have nearly drowned three or four times in big surf, had about five big sharks have a sniff at me, multiple broken bones, been stitched up, reef cuts, busted ear drums, snapped boards, stuck in foreign countries and I loved every minute of it.

I grew up in Cornwall and fell in love with the ocean and the rugged coastline at an early age. I started surfing at the age of four on a wooden belly board in the 70’s, advanced to the foamie then onto the big single fins.
From an early age the coastline was my playground, when it was flat we would find the biggest cliffs and jump off them into the ocean, in big storms we would go to the sheltered corners and swim and get smashed in the shore breaks.

I still get the excitement just before I jump into the ocean on a good day as I did when I was a grommet.

After suffering from serious back problems and recovering from spinal fusion, my main therapy was swimming in the ocean and taking photos.

The ocean kept me sane through the storm and I hope you enjoy the images I capture.
Get out there.

Impressionism is the art of hunting with a paintbrush and colours.

It is finding the perfect moment and capturing it on canvas. More time is spent searching for the moment than painting. I love Noosa. It is the most beautiful place on earth. I hope to share its beauty through my paintings.

This is my first gallery showing in 29 years. Through my university days in San Diego, California, I sold paintings to help cover living expenses, but put down the brushes and focused on surfboards for nearly three decades. Now, as a Noosa councillor, seeing and immersing myself in Noosa’s beauty complements my new job.

My art is inspired by my traveling and lifestyle.

I live in my van full time. My art reflects my experiences on the road and places I’ve been. Inspiration can be found in a leaf or tree, a moment, a view, a sunset, or a beach. Then I’ll pick up my pens and outcomes a twisted psychedelic cartoon version made up from these moments. This is my passion – this is my therapy.
My art is my drive to be better as a person, as a human being, a father of two beautiful children to whom I am separated from by distance and time, to be a good role model for them and give them the inspiration to do better and think outside of the box that so many people live in day to day without question.

Born in Fiji my sister and I spent most of our childhood living our lives in the ocean. Scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing and travelling with our parents. Schooling was a mixture of correspondence & spending a year or two in a “normal” school environment, we got used to forming friendships quickly and knowing that they would never last long as we would be on the move again. To this day it’s still easy to say goodbye, knowing that somewhere along the track we’ll probably bump into each other again !!

We travelled around the world up until I turned 21, my parents always had a house in both Fiji and Queensland, Australia. The house is still sitting over in Fiji, on the Coral Coast, but I haven’t been back since Dad passed away. It’s changed so much over the tens of years .. I miss the days when we were kids, the reef out the front of the house has changed, it’s busier then ever, attitudes are different … but I would never exchange that life we lived .. the memories will be forever.

We’ve been on the Sunshine Coast for over 16 years now. 25 years of showing horses we finally found the ocean again. We’ve recently moved into Eumundi .. it’s been really nice, quiet, more of a country town that we call crave but still within minutes of the beaches. The boys are now young adults, James, my eldest, is a mad car nut and Will has graced many of my photos.

People have asked how in the world does a woman in her late 40’s suddenly take up photography.. I became completely infatuated with surfing longboards and my husband Jason and I spent nearly every waking moment surfing thigh high waves ( yes I’m a sook ) Then when the ocean became wild and uncontrollable .. I picked up a camera. My photos now grace magazines such as Pacific Longboarder and I’m regularly booked to work with local swimwear, skin care & surf board shapers.

If I could give any words of wisdom .. open your mind to what can be, don’t be afraid to experiment, google is your friend, ask lots of questions from those you admire…. and remember no one is perfect, everyone won’t love what you do, be real, be grateful and keep yourself grounded. I’m here right now because of every person who has graced my photos .. thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It’s funny, but you know you’re doing something right when that complete stranger walks up to you in a completely random place, far away from your comfort zone and says .. “ are you Fenna ? thank you for taking photos, I love what you do !!” .. and in that tiny moment, you’ve done a good thing .. you’ve made someone smile .. and to me, that’s all I can ever ask for.

I grew up in the waves on the Sunshine Coast.

My brothers and I spent our days swimming, surfing, and chilling on the beach with family and friends from dawn to dusk.
My passion has always been the ocean lifestyle and the Aussie surf culture of the 70s. Art became my second love, teaching myself how to express & create beautiful art on many different surfaces – including canvas, surfboards, furniture and retail products, to reflect my commitment to sustainability and up-cycling.

I love using mixed medium to create intricate, thought-provoking & vibrant paintings on both surfboards and canvas. My work has been featured in numerous exhibitions on the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast including the Noosa Surf Art Expo ( 5 years) Give Me Five for Kids (7 years) and The Board Meeting to name just a few.

Jay Allery: Born 1956 Cooroy Qld Australia

Some Noosa locals would remember me by my birth name Gary Allery. Jay was a name I acquired when I moved to the Gold Coast many years ago. The name stuck and I actually preferred it, so it is the name I paint under, my alias or pseudonym if you like. Hereafter I refer to myself as the artist Jay.
Jay has always had a relationship with the Australian environment, both in the oceans and seas that embrace the coastal regions and the bush. Its strangeness, vastness and the oddities, characterised by its unique flora and fauna. With a background in hand painted restoration and graphic design, these skills have led to a natural inclination and desire to paint. Self taught, Jay’s rich imagination is often expressed through his versatile use of line and colour.
The consistent use of outline in Jay’s paintings come from his fascination.with the concept that all objects, even those viewed as inanimate, are actually living and as such retain an energy. In regards to this, through the outlines inclusion, Jay contains the energy of the subject matter within his paintings. Jays expansive, yet defined colour palette is a direct response to the frequencies of the environments, landscapes and creatures seen and unseen that populate his works. Jay further sees the finished artwork as a living entity and an active extension of the subconscious.
Jays mission is to produce bright energetic paintings that create a positive ambience wherever they are placed. Each piece is created with a background story, they are narratives that relay movement, energy, human drama and triumphs of the human spirit. The subject of surfing has a great influence on his work, a human pitting him/herself against the powerful forces of nature, in Jay’s opinion the greatest sport in the world.

Ocean Art Naomi

Ocean Art Naomi

“My Heart and Soul are stained…with the inks of the Ocean” – Naomi

Born in Victoria Australia, Naomi grew up in the coastal town of Portland. Surrounded by the majestic seascapes of South-West Victoria, this was where her heart and soul first connected to the beauty and magic of Ocean and Sealife.

During her late teen years Naomi relocated to Melbourne. Following her passion for Art, Naomi continued her education in Art and Design, including an apprenticeship in Graphic Design and Print Reproduction. Naomi’s early career continued with a Graphic Design Studio and Printing company in North Melbourne. Whilst raising her family in Victoria, Naomi went on to work in the Residential Construction and Property Development Industry for the past 20 years. Sadly, Naomi’s husband passed away in 2014.

The loss of her husband redefined life as Naomi (and her daughters) knew it. Passionate about the gift of life and determined to “make every single day count”, Naomi chased new goals and dreams. In 2019 Naomi made the decision to move with her daughters to Queensland. Relocating to the majestic Sunshine Coast reignited Naomi’s love for all things Ocean and Sealife.

Naomi’s creative illustrative soul was calling out again after a (nearly) 30-year absence. “OCEAN ART NAOMI” was brought to life in January 2020. Inspired by the vast beauty and bold colours of the Ocean and Sealife of the Sunshine Coast, Naomi’s various works are created using Pencil, Acrylic Gouche, Acrylic Ink, Conte Pastel and Watercolor mediums.
