Mo Riggs

Mo Riggs

Maureen Riggs respectfully known as Mo Riggs has avidly stood by her passion, painting the natural world above and below the sea.

Maureen’s paintings capture the quintessential essence and energy of tidal flows, stormy seas and skies, tranquil beaches, whales, turtles, sharks as well as specialising in life on a coral reef.

While raising her children here in Noosa, access to the underwater world was limited so she showcased her talents in painting the beautiful beaches, surf scenes and birdlife of the Sunshine Coast.

Mo first exhibited in a group art exhibition in 1987 in Melbourne for the International Scuba Expo. Her first solo exhibition was held in the Great Barrier Marine Park Aquarium in 1988 and was a sell out.

Living and working on the Great Barrier Reef in her late teens her journey in becoming a leading marine life artist began. Over time Mo fine tuned her unique skills at rendering the myriad life and symbiotic relationships within a coral reef.

Many group and solo exhibitions later, and, after 2 artist in residence positions in Fiji Mo has once again moved to her home town Noosa.
This is her second time participating and supporting the Noosa Surf Art Exhibition

Netrae Art

Netrae Art

Lynette started painting in 2016, using acrylic paint, onto canvas or wooden board.

Inspiration comes from our beautiful coast line which I hold extremely close to my heart. I visit these areas as often as I can to build on my reference for future paintings. Rainbow Beach to Noosa national park, with its turquoise waters and coloured sands.
Living within the Mary valley has also touched my soul. Capturing the lush green rolling hills surrounded by Australian flora and fauna, again creating on to a canvas.
Original artworks from miniature to large wall canvas available.
Prints available on posters, gift cards, bags, cushion covers, stubby holders to name a few.

Beck Lee

Beck Lee

Passionate about creating, Beck Lee completed her University Visual Art degree and has continued to pursue painting ever since; in her words “I genuinely have no say in it”.

Beck’s interest as an artist lies in the emotion of a suspended moment. She works primarily with oil and acrylic paint on canvas to distort reality through light, vibrant colour and gritty brushstrokes that seem to both swallow and harmonise with her subject’s delicate details. She invites her audience to give permission to themselves to be gently present in this moment, here and now.

Her objective is to create emotion through vibrant colour with a gritty application mixed with delicate classical detail – her aim is to try and capture that moment when you are just suspended in the now.

Beck has previously exhibited throughout Brisbane and Melbourne, before the pull of the ocean calling her home became irresistible and she returned to settle in her beloved Sunshine Coast. When Beck isn’t painting in her studio she can be found surfing, horse riding and fossicking the local markets for treasures.

SeaJay Art

Carlie Johnston

From Melbourne originally, I moved with my family to Mudjimba on the Sunshine Coast in 2008.

I work from my home studio and have a love of nature and art.
Since I was young, I have always explored art in some form or another.
Textiles were a favourite of mine for many years and I have made several large mosaic artworks and explored acrylic painting, but it wasn’t until 2015 that I discovered Resin.

I immediately fell in love with this fluid medium and the way the colours blend and can be manipulated with heat. The vibrancy and depth of each artwork is what keeps me wanting to create my next piece. I am particularly drawn to creating pieces to represent my love of the ocean and beach where I live. My inspiration comes from aerial photographs of the sea and my multi-layered resin pieces really do seem as though you are looking through the waves.

I wanted to make functional artworks at an affordable price so began making Cheese Platters. My resin boards differ from other resin works out there as mine are created from an artists’ way of thinking rather than a view for business. Each piece is unique, and I take great care to prepare and finish the artwork well. The bowls and plates are solid resin and made from a mould I have created. The way in which I pour and mix the colours and move the resin around with a heat gun determines the patterns in each piece. You can see some videos of how I make my art on my Facebook and Instagram pages.

Carlie’s art is inspired by the ocean and natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast. She explores a creative process using resin to provide depth and texture.  In addition to wall art, she moulds and manipulates resin to create beautiful and unique homewares.  Carlie has won awards in the Resin and Flow Art Show and was most recently awarded 1st prize in the Sculpture category in The Eclectica Art Awards Exhibition at the Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre.
Aerial photographs provide inspiration for her work and the uniqueness and depth will have you wondering if it is indeed a photograph!

Scott Christensen

Scott Christensen

Scott Christensen began painting with oils on stretched canvas in 1997 at the age of 26. Four years later, Scott resigned from his position leading a horizontal drilling gang to study Visual Art full-time. Scott’s wife had just given birth to their first children—twins. As Scott recalls, ‘failure was not an option’.

Since then, he has sold over 250 originals and over 3500 Canvas Editions. Scott united his ability to create with his love of the Australian coastline, and has never looked back.

He represents these ever-changing environments with vibrant colour, sharp composition, and attention to every detail. His work has been described as ‘stylish, photo-realism’, ‘unique, and very Australian’. Scott Christensen paints full-time from his Studio/Gallery in Cleveland, in the Redland Shire of Queensland.

Scott’s work is held in private and public collections within Australia and in private collections everywhere from the USA to the UK.

Strong sales Australia wide are confirmation that Scott’s images connect with many, a trend that is continuing on the world stage. His work is continuing to mature and develop, assuring investors of its collectability.

Amanda Davidson

Amanda Davidson

You know that feeling, a little bit too much sun, salt crispy on your skin, your freckles glowing while your hair runs wild. The day that was – is now just a saltly memory. Amanda Davidson’s pieces are created with these salty memories in mind and reflect fleeting sandy, sun-kissed moments.

Her wares include original paintings (created in predominately acrylic paint with additions of old surf magazine collage, paint pens, spray paint and ink), Limited edition art prints, Open edition prints, resin blocks, and hand screen-printed and sewed pillows and clutches.

Based on the Sunshine Coast, Qld when she isn’t surfing or looking after her family – she most defiantly is creating something.
